Lysine producers continue to cut prices in China

Lysine prices fell substantially during the week ending March 29.

Producers were under pressure to cut prices as inventories mounted amid slack demand. However, even with prices lower, feed millers were not eager to accumulate stocks while hog population remained stagnant with piglet production limited.

Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine slid to the range of RMB7.80-8.30/kg.

Lysine market will remain weak even as hog feed consumption is expected to expand with Qingming Festival approaching.

RMB1=US$0.1542 (Mar 30)
